Pool Hierarchy

Three-level tree under the Private scope: org → org/nz / org/au → org/nz/dev / org/au/sandbox.

Resource CIDR Region Notes
VPC (workload-a) 10.64.0.0/20 ap-southeast-6 First allocation from dev pool
VPC (workload-b) 10.128.0.0/20 ap-southeast-2 First allocation from sandbox pool

The root org pool has no locale — it is a global container. Setting a locale on the parent pool locks all children to that region and causes InvalidParameterCombination errors.

Locales are set on regional and leaf pools only:

  • org/nz, org/nz/dev → ap-southeast-6
  • org/au, org/au/sandbox → ap-southeast-2

See RAM and onboarding for how workloads consume these pools.
